CHARITY RACE FUNDRAISER

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 6th, 2020

Raising money for Alzheimer's research.

This is an intermediate-level course with a mixture of single-track and double-track trails. The scenery is beautiful as it over-looks the Moose Jaw River. The rolling hills, uneven terrain and quick turns along the bike trails will keep you light on your feet and your heart pumping!

ABOUT DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia and accounts for 60 percent to 80 percent of dementia cases (Alzheimer's Association, 2020). Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills and, eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks (NIA, 2017). In 2010, an estimated 35.6 million people worldwide were living with dementia, a number that is expected to double by the year 2030 (Stats Canada, 2016).
