WALK RUN 4 ALZ FUNDRAISING

Our first year running this event had about 100 participants attending on June 15th, 2019. The event was successful and we are pleased to announce that this event raised over $5000. All proceeds go to Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan.

This event would not have been successful without the help of our volunteers and local sponsors. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this charity run/walk and we look forward to making this an annual event. Stay tuned for information on next year's trail run/walk in Moose Jaw!

ABOUT DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia and accounts for 60 percent to 80 percent of dementia cases (Alzheimer's Association, 2020). Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills and, eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks (NIA, 2017). In 2010, an estimated 35.6 million people worldwide were living with dementia, a number that is expected to double by the year 2030 (Stats Canada, 2016).
