WALK RUN 4 ALZ FUNDRAISING

People from Moose Jaw and surrounding areas came together to participate in the 5K and 10K walk/run event in 2019 when it started. We are pleased to announce that this event raised over $30,000 over the past four years. All proceeds go to Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan.

This event would not have been successful without the help of our volunteers and local sponsors. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this charity run/walk and we look forward to making this an annual event. The date for our fifth annual Walk/Run 4 ALZ has been set for Saturday August 24, 2024.

Registration will open on May 1st!

ABOUT DEMENTIA AND ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia and accounts for 60 percent to 80 percent of dementia cases (Alzheimer's Association, 2020). Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills and, eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks (NIA, 2017). In 2010, an estimated 35.6 million people worldwide were living with dementia, a number that is expected to double by the year 2030 (Stats Canada, 2016).
